Mountain Biking Kota Kinabalu

Traverse through villages by the rivers, jungle plantations and coastal plains with the Mountain Biking Kota Kinabalu Day Trip at Tuaran. Areas that are less-travelled and rarely visited by tourists, participants of the program are treated to sceneries and scenarios unique to the town and only available if you join the trip! Challenging yet rewarding, the trip is suitable for all adventure enthusiasts seeking to have a unique mountain biking experience. The tour encourages you to bring your camera, so you will be able to document your exciting journey as you cycle through uncommon but exciting places of Tuaran town Sabah, Borneo.

Another special feature of Mountain Biking Kota Kinabalu is that participants get to really see how the local community lives and breathes in this region. Tuaran is the central land for the Dusun people of Sabah. And here, you can see how they make use of the natural environment by planting, farming, hunting and fishing for sustenance. Meet local children playing near the villages and don’t be shy – they’re really friendly! As you pass them they will be waving at you happily. You will also get to visit near the Chinese Pagoda and eat the famed local cuisine ‘Mee Tuaran’ .

About the Trail

Pre-requisites for this program include having basic biking skills. The 20km trail consists of mostly dirt roads and the remainder is on small village roads with minimum traffic, so you will be required to climb up and ride down the hillside slopes of Tuaran town. Be prepared for physical exertion as well as hot and humid weather during the long trail. And if at any time you feel unwell or in need of rest, a support vehicle is always on standby not far from you.

The program is made for the adventurous – facilities en route might not be many as the district is truly off the beaten track and less-travelled by tourists. But you will be able enjoy scenic views and unspoiled nature here. To add to the thrill, you will cross rivers by cycling at hanging bridges found along the way.

Your Safety is Our Priority

Guides are all trained in first aid and we carry comprehensive first aid kits. A support vehicle is nearby at all times should a problem occur.
